BIOSKETCH
Bongiwe Gumede is an Academic Development Officer (ADO) in the Discipline of Biokinetics, Exercise, and Leisure Sciences (BELS), where she supports undergraduate and honours students in their academic and professional development. With experience in student advising, curriculum engagement, and academic support, Bongiwe plays a key role in guiding students through their academic journeys. Having worked within the discipline as a peer wellness mentor, intern, tutor, and now an ADO, Bongiwe has developed a deep understanding of the field and the academic requirements that will make students successful in the program. Her expertise extends to digital learning tools, student engagement strategies, and academic success initiatives. Passionate about creating a supportive and dynamic learning environment, Bongiwe is committed to empowering students with the knowledge and resources they need to excel in both academia and their future careers.
